WOCAD holds memberships in other organisations and collaborates within the Nordic countries, Europe and internationally.

CAN

The Swedish Council for Information on Alcohol and Other Drugs (CAN) is a non-governmental organization. CAN's main tasks are to follow the drug trends in Sweden and to inform the public and educate professionals on alcohol and other drugs.

The Swedish Women's Lobby

The Swedish Women's Lobby is a politically independent umbrella organisation for women's non-governmental organizations in Sweden. The aim is to integrate women's perspectives into all political, economic and social processes, locally as well as internationally.

NordAN - Nordic Alcohol and Drug Policy Network

NordAN is as a network of non governmental, voluntary organizations who all work to reduce the consumption of alcohol and other drugs and who support a restrictive alcohol and drug policy and who do not receive contributions from the commercial alcohol industry. NordAN has about 90 non-governmental, voluntary member organisations in all the eight Nordic and Baltic countries. WOCAD is the coordinator of NordAN's Women's seminar.

EWL - European Women's Lobby

The European Women's Lobby (EWL) is the largest umbrella organisation of women's associations in the European Union (EU), working to promote women's rights and equality between women and men. EWL represents over 2500 organisations. Through WOCAD's membership in the Swedish women's lobby WOCAD receives information from the EWL. WOCAD is also a corresponding member of EWL.

CSF - Civil Society Forum on Drugs in the EU

The Civil Society Forum on Drugs (CSF) meets at least once a year and serves as a platform for informal exchanges of views and information between the Commission and civil society organisations. WOCAD is represented by General Manager and information officer Janina Engström

EAD - European Action on Drugs

The European Action on Drugs is designed to provide European civil society with a platform to increase awareness and commitment as regards drugs and the risks related to drug abuse, and to promote dialogue and exchanges of best practice.

WOCAD's contribution to EAD is the project BellaNet's online forum www.bellanet.se for girl group leaders who work with drug prevention. The online forum is open for both Swedish and international members who work with girl groups using WOCAD's method material "Bella Rubble and roses 2 – for girl groups" (Katrin Byréus/WOCAD, 2001, 2006).

ICAA - International Council on Alcohol and Addiction

ICAA is an international network that works to prevent and reduce the harmful effects of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Britt Fredenman, Operational Developer is a representative in the Board of ICAA. WOCAD coordinates section "Focus on women".

WFAD - World Federation Against Drugs

The World Federation Against Drugs (WFAD) is a multilateral community of non-governmental organisations and individuals. Founded in 2009, the aim of WFAD is to work for a drug-free world. The members of the WFAD share a common concern that illicit drug use is undercutting traditional values and threatening the existence of stable families, communities, and government institutions throughout the world. WOCAD is a part of Gender Working Group at the WFAD since 2020.

VNGOC - Vienna NGO Committeeon drugs

The committee is a vital link between NGO's and the key intergovernmental and international agencies involved in drug policy, strategy and control: the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), the International Narcotics Control Board and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The Committee works with these organisations to provide information on NGO activities, draw attention to areas of concern, build partnerships between governmental and non-governmental organisations and to involve a wide sector of civil society in contributing to the development of global drug policies.
